Ardent Health/AHS Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating AHS Management Company, Inc. d/b/a Ardent Health Services (“AHS”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on November 23, 2023, AHS and its affiliated entities discovered a ransomware incident impacting its network, during which an unauthorized actor may have accessed, viewed or removed documents with patient information.

AHS reported that the data breach may have impacted 17,500 residents of Texas. Residents of other states may have also been impacted.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their patient contact information (e.g., address, phone number, email address), Social Security numbers, medical treatment information (e.g., providers, dates of service, diagnoses, prescriptions), health insurance and claims information, and Medicaid / Medicare numbers.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
