BMO Bank, N.A. MOVEit Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating BMO Bank, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that BMO Bank uses called MOVEit.

BMO Bank reported that the data breach impacted 56,879 individuals.

For each of these 56,879 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
