Community Trust Bank MOVEit Data Security Event

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Community Trust Bank ,which recently sent notice of a Data Security Event to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Security Event arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Community Trust Bank’s service provider uses called MOVEit.

Community Trust Bank reported that the Data Security Event impacted 99,389 individuals.

For each of these 99,389 individuals, the information involved may have included their financial account number or credit/debit card number.

It is unclear whether or not the financial account numbers or credit/debit card numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
