Excelsior Orthopaedics Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Excelsior Orthopaedics, LLP, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

Excelsior Orthopaedics reported that the data breach may have impacted approximately 357,000 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, Social Security number information, driver’s license number, government-issued ID number (e.g. passport, state ID card), financial information (e.g. account number, credit or debit card number), medical information, health insurance information, and/or date of birth.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
