Mulkay Cardiology Consultants Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Mulkay Cardiology Consultants at Holy Name Medical Center PC, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data security incident arose when an unknown third party accessed Mulkay Cardiology’s systems from September 1, 2023, through September 5, 2023 and acquired certain files from its systems during that time.

Mulkay Cardiology reported that the data breach impacted 79,582 individuals.

For each of these 79,582 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number or state ID, medical treatment information, and/or health insurance information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
