Keenan & Associates Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Kennan & Associates (“Keenan”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states an unauthorized party gained access to certain Keenan internal systems at various times between approximately August 21, 2023 and August 27, 2023, and that the unauthorized party obtained some data from Keenan systems.

Keenan reported that the data breach may have impacted 1,509,616 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their date of birth, Social Security number, passport number, driver’s license number, health insurance information, and general health information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
