BankCard Merchant Services USA, Inc. Data Security Incident

Maxey Law Firm is investigating BankCard Merchant Services USA, Inc., which recently sent notice of a data security incident impacted individuals. The notice states that the data security incident arose when files on certain of its computer systems were subject to unauthorized access and acquisition by an unauthorized party between May 31, 2023 and June 1, 2023.

BankCard Merchant Services USA, Inc. reported that the data security incident affected 9,618 individuals.

For each of these 9,618 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, and financial account information.

The notice does not state whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
