EFS Advisors Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating EFS Advisors LLC (“EFS”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on or about February 22, 2024, EFS detected it was the target of a data security incident in which an unauthorized third party attempted to infiltrate EFS’s computer network.

EFS reported that the data breach may have impacted 31,042 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
