Loyal American Life Insurance Company MOVEit Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Loyal American Life Insurance Company, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Loyal American Life Insurance Company’s third party service provider uses called MOVEit.

Loyal American Life Insurance Company reported that the third-party data breach impacted 44,400 individuals.

For each of these 44,400 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
