MNGI Digestive Health Data Breach Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating MNGI Digestive Health, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on August 25, 2023, MNGI discovered unauthorized activity within its digital environment, during which certain individuals’ personal and protected health information was potentially affected.

MNGI reported that the data breach may have impacted 765,937 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, Social Security number information, driver’s license number, government-issued ID number (e.g. passport, state ID card), financial information (e.g. account number, credit or debit card number), medical information, health insurance information, and/or date of birth.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
