Nations Direct Mortgage Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Nations Direct Mortgage, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on or about December 30, 2023, Nations Direct became aware of unauthorized access to certain systems within its computer information technology network, during which an unauthorized third party obtained access to and potentially removed data of certain individuals from across the country.

Nations Direct reported that the data breach may have impacted 83,108 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, Social Security number, and unique Nations Direct loan number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
