Pacific Guardian Life (“PGL”) Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Pacific Guardian Life Insurance Company (“PGL”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that an unauthorized actor may have accessed or acquired data from the PGL environment on August 25, 2023.

PGL reported that the data breach may have impacted 167,103 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, and financial account information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
