Rea Magnet Wire Company Cybersecurity Incident

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Rea Magnet Wire Company, which recently sent notice of a cybersecurity incident to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data security incident arose from a ransomware attack during which the perpetrators stole information from the Company’s systems.

Rea Magnet Wire Company reported that the cybersecurity incident impacted 3,981 individuals.

For each of these 3,981 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth, and Social Security number and/or tax identification number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
