VNS Health Health Plans (“VNS”) MOVEit Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating VNS Health Health Plans (“VNS”), which recently sent a Notice of Data Breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that VNS uses called MOVEit.

VNS reported that the Data Breach impacted 103,775 individuals.

For impacted individuals, the information involved may have included their name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, date of birth, social security number, member ID, Medicare and/or Medicaid number, benefit and subsidy information, billing information, medical claims information, healthcare provider name and specialty, and/or dates of service.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
