American National Group, LLC MOVEit Data Security Incident

Maxey Law Firm is investigating American National Group, LLC (“American National”), which recently sent a Notice of Data Security Incident to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Security Incident arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Americal National uses called MOVEit.

American National reported that the Data Security Incident impacted 35,466 Texas residents, 24,488 South Carolina residents, and 1,009 Massachusetts residents. The Data Security Incident may have also impacted residents of other states.

For impacted individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, date of birth, and/or address.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.’
