Asbury Automotive Group Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Asbury Automotive Group (“Asbury”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on on December 25, 2023, Asbury detected unauthorized access to files on some of its file servers, during which an unauthorized actor accessed certain systems in its network and, on December 25, 2023, acquired files stored on some of its file servers.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number or driver’s license number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
