Associated Wholesale Grocers Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Associated Wholesale Grocers (“AWG”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that between October 6, 2023, and October 7, 2023, an unknown actor gained access to certain of AWG’s systems and accessed or took certain information from those systems.

AWG reported that the data breach may have impacted 26,579 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
