BrightSpring Health Services Cybersecurity Incident

Maxey Law Firm is investigating BrightSpring Health Services, which recently sent notice of a cybersecurity incident to impacted individuals. The notice states that the cybersecurity incident arose when an unknown third party accessed BrightSpring Health Services’ computer systems from March 12 to 13, 2023 and may have obtained personal information.

BrightSpring Health Services reported that the cybersecurity incident affected 535,203 individuals.

For each of these 535,203 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and/or Social Security number and, in some cases, an address and/or date of birth.

The notice does not state whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
