Maxey Law Firm is investigating Builders Mutual Insurance Company (“Builders Mutual”), which recently sent notice of a Data Event to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Event arose when there was unauthorized access to Builders Mutual’s network beginning on December 14, 2022, and certain files were copied on December 15, 2022.

For each of these 64,761 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, medical information, health insurance information, and/or workers’ compensation information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
