Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. Data Security Incident

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Prospect Medical Holdings, Inc. (“Prospect Medical”), which recently sent notice of a Data Security Incident to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Security Incident arose when an unauthorized party gained access to Prospect Medical’s IT network between the dates of July 31, 2023 and August 3, 2023 and accessed and/or acquired files that contain information pertaining to certain Prospect Medical employees and dependents.

Prospect Medical reported that the Data Security Incident impacted 190,492 individuals.

For each of these 190,492 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
