Cherry Health Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Cherry Street Services, Inc. (“Cherry Health”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that on on December 21, 2023, Cherry Health experienced a network disruption that affected its ability to access certain systems, during which some data it maintains was accessed improperly.

Cherry Health reported that the data breach may have impacted 184,372 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their first and last name, in combination with one or more of the following data elements: addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, health insurance information, health insurance ID number, patient ID number, provider name, service date, diagnosis/treatment information, prescription information, financial account information and/or Social Security numbers.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
