Dow Credit Union MOVEit Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Dow Credit Union, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Dow Credit Union’s service provider uses called MOVEit.

Dow Credit Union reported that the data breach impacted 29,954 individuals.

For each of these 29,954 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, mailing address, Social Security number, account number, account balance, and date of birth.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
