Financial Asset Management Systems (“FAMS”) Data Breach
Maxey Law Firm is investigating Financial Asset Management Systems (“FAMS”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data breach arose when certain information stored on FAMS’ network was accessed by an unauthorized party.
FAMS reported that the data breach impacted 10,055 individuals.
For each of these 10,055 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.
It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
