Financial Institution Service Corporation (“FISC”) MOVEit Data Event
Maxey Law Firm is investigating Financial Institution Service Corporation (“FISC”), which recently sent notice of a data event to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data event arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that FISC uses called MOVEit.
FISC reported that the data event impacted 753,261 individuals.
For each of these 753,261 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number and other government issued identification number, financial account information, telephone number, and credit and/or debit card number.
It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
