HUB International Limited Data Event

Maxey Law Firm is investigating HUB International Limited (“HUB”), which recently sent notice of a Data Event to impacted individuals. The notice states that certain systems within HUB’s network were accessed by an unknown individual and files were copied without authorization between December 2022 and January 2023.

HUB reported that the Data Event affected 479,261 individuals.

For each of these 479,261 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, driver’s license number, and financial account information.

The notice does not state whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
