Tift Regional Health System Data Event

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Tift Regional Health System, Inc. (“Tift”), which recently sent a Notice of Data Event to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Event arose when certain files on Tift’s systems were or may have been accessed or copied without authorization between August 11, 2022 and August 17, 2022.

Tift reported the the Data Event affected 180,142 individuals.

For each of these 180,142 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, date of birth, Social Security number, and medical information.

The notice does not state whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
