LoanCare Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation
Maxey Law Firm is investigating LoanCare, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that on or about November 19, 2023, LoanCare, which performs or has performed loan subservicing functions for mortgage loan servicers, became aware of unauthorized access to certain systems within its parent’s, Fidelity National Financial, Inc. (“FNF”), information technology network, during which an unauthorized third party exfiltrated data from certain FNF systems.
LoanCare reported that the data breach impacted 1,316,938 individuals.
For each of these 1,316,938 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, address, Social Security number, and loan number.
It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
