MW Components Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating MW Components, which recently sent a Notice of Data Breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the data breach arose when an unknown, unauthorized third party accessed certain MW Components computer systems between March 1, 2023 and March 26, 2023 and may have acquired certain documents from its systems during this period.

MW Components reported that the data breach affected 18,107 individuals.

For each of these 18,107 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and/or Social Security number.

The notice does not state whether or not the Social Security numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
