Primis Bank MOVEit Third Party Data Breach

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Primis Bank, which recently sent notice of a third-party data breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the third-party data breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Primis Bank’s vendor, Darling Consulting Group, uses called MOVEit.

Primis Bank reported that the third-party data breach impacted 35,585 individuals.

For each of these 35,585 individuals, the information involved may have included their name and Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
