Chevron Federal Credit Union MOVEit Data Breach
Maxey Law Firm is investigating Chevron Federal Credit Union, which recently sent a Notice of Data Breach to impacted individuals. The notice states that the Data Breach arose from a vulnerability in a file transfer application that Chevron Federal Credit Union uses called MOVEit.
Chevron Federal Credit Union reported that the Data Breach impacted 90,536 individuals.
For each of these 90,536 individuals, the information involved may have included their name, financial account number, and/or credit/debit card number (in combination with security code, access code, password, or PIN).
It is unclear whether or not the financial account numbers and other sensitive information were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
