Recology Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Recology, which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states on November 2, 2023, Recology discovered unusual activity on its computer network, during which some documents were acquired from its system.

Recology reported that the data breach may have impacted 30,683 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their Social Security number.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
