Ventura County Credit Union Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit Investigation

Maxey Law Firm is investigating Ventura County Credit Union (“VCCU”), which recently sent notice of a data breach to impacted individuals.

The notice states that there was unauthorized access to certain VCCU email accounts from October 20, 2022 to December 15, 2022 and that these accounts contained information about certain individuals.

VCCU reported that the data breach may have impacted 9,452 individuals.

For each of these individuals, the information involved may have included their name, Social Security number, and financial account information.

It is unclear whether or not the Social Security numbers were encrypted and, if not, why they were not encrypted.
